Lawrence Girard

Lawrence Butch Girard, 66 of La Crosse passed away Saturday; March 23, 2013 at the Hillview Healthcare Center. He was born March 1, 1947 in La Crosse to Laurence and Bernadine (Wieser) Girard. On November 8, 1975 he married Linda Verthein at St. Peters Catholic Church in Hokah, MN. Butch had worked as a welder for the Trane Company in La Crosse for several years until his retirement due to ill health.

In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by a stepson; William Verthein of La Farge, WI; a brother, Joe Girard of La Crosse; two sisters, Lisa (Virgil) Brown and Karen (Doug) Dummer both of La Crosse along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bernard Sonny Girard.

Private family services will be held. Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation services of La Crosse is assisting the family.
