Paul John Kasten

Paul John Kasten, 75, of La Crescent, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. He was born on September 11, 1937 in Caledonia, MN to Arthur and Adeline (Welper) Kasten. Paul grew up on a farm, loved Oliver Tractors and going to tractor shows. He was a logger his entire life, and enjoyed the outdoors. Paul was known for his perpetual smile and laugh.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, three children, Karla (Dan) Koch of La Crescent, Paul L.A. and William of La Crescent, four grandchildren, Drew, Danielle, Will and Elisabeth, a sister Delores Fetketter, and a brother, Hillery (Lila) Kasten. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Marlin, Leslie and Gailord, and a sister Ruth.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 5th, 2013 at 11:00 AM at First Ev. Lutheran Church, La Crescent. Pastor Chris Christenson will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Eitzen, MN. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Service of La Crescent on Thursday from 4:00 7:00 PM, and at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
