Lois was born in La Crosse on October 23, 1933, to Carl and Frieda (Bertkow) Techmer. She attended La Crosse schools and was a 1951 graduate of Central High School.

Lois married Donald Dale Wooden in La Crosse. They lived in California for several years while Donald served in Korea and Lois worked as a phone operator. They returned to La Crosse and Lois began working at the La Crosse Phone Co. in 1960 and later retired from CenturyTel in 1991. Donald preceded Lois in death in 1979. Later in life, she married Hubert Dugger who also preceded her in death in 2001.

Lois was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in La Crosse. In her free time, she enjoyed bingo, playing cards with her friends, and loved to take Ladies Trips with her sisters to the casinos. Lois was also an avid reader, and was especially fond of romance and mystery novels.

She is survived by four sons, Michael (Wendy) Wooden of Mindoro, James (Vern) Wooden of La Crosse, David (Susan) Wooden of La Crescent, and Jason Wooden of La Crosse; six grandchildren, Bill Martin, Shawn Wooden, Sara Mae Wooden (Robert Mini), Leah Wooden, Jordan Wooden, and Taylor Wooden; two sisters, Audrey Kvamme and Mary Ann Juen, both of La Crosse; a brother-in-law, Russ (Fran) Wooden of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, Lois was also preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Peplinsky; a brother, Clayton Techmer; and three brothers-in-law, Morris Kvamme, Sylvester Pep Peplinsky, and Jerry Juen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 15th, at 1:00 p.m., at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services-La Crosse Chapel, located at 200 West Ave. So. Pastor Richard Pamperin will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery in Barre Mills. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
