Bernice E. Kolb, 90, of La Crosse, died on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Bethany Riverside Nursing Home. She was born on September 29, 1922 in La Crosse to Ernest and Esther (Oehler) Roesler. Bernice attended St. Joseph Cathedral Grade School and was a 1941 graduate of Aquinas High School. She married Norman Kolb on November 22, 1941 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Bernice and Norman were avid campers, and she enjoyed being with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bernice was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary where she held many state and local offices. She attended many Eagle conventions, and was inducted into the Wisconsin Eagle Auxiliary Hall of Fame.
She is survived by a son Jerry (Mary) Kolb of Kerrville, TX, seven grandchildren, Lorre, Steven, Sandra, Kristie, Kevin, Jim and Kelly, seven great-grandchildren, a brother Richard (Marlene) Roesler of La Crosse, a sister-in-law, Marian Roesler of La Crosse, a daughter-in-law, Beatrice Kolb, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman in 1985, a son George E. Kolb, three brothers, Kenneth, Robert and Alois, and a sister Mildred Boullion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate. Committal services will follow in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, donations will be used to set up a memorial in Bernices honor at the Eagles Club.
