Ellen Kay (Bonadurer) Cavadini, 57 of La Crosse passed away at her home on Thursday, April 25, 2013 surrounded by her loving husband and family following a very courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 29, 1955 in La Crosse to William and Mary (Roberts) Bonadurer and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1973. Ellen later graduated from the Viterbo School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at the V.A. Medical Center in Tomah for many years until her illness forced her to resign. On September 2, 2000 she married Patrick Cavadini at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in La Crosse.

Ellen was a member of Franciscan Healthcare Auxiliary, Blessed Sacrament Womens Club, the Emeritus Viterbo Alumni Association and had served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines from 1978 until 1980. She was an accomplished quilter and enjoyed donating many of her works to charitable fundraisers.

In addition to her husband, Pat she is survived by her brothers and sister; Patrick (Kitty) Bonadurer, Thomas (Sally) Bonadurer, Paul Bonadurer, Robert (Vicki) Bonadurer, Janet (Thomas) Bonadurer-Olson and Daniel Bonadurer; her mother and father-in-law, Janice and Jim Cavadini; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay (John) Sagen, Janine (Glenn) ODell, Mike (Julie) Cavadini and Tim (Sarah) Cavadini, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 30th at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Msgr. Bernard McGartyofficiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse on Monday from 4-7 PM where a rosary will be recited at 4:00PM; and again at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Oasis Fund at Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, Mayo Clinic Hospice Program or the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.
