William Dixson Schilling, 60, of Onalaska, died on Saturday, April 27th, 2013 at his home. He was born on February 13, 1953 in Libertyville, IL to Richard and Lieselotte Lee (Knoblauch) Schilling. Bill and his family moved to Holmen when he was a child and he graduated from Holmen High School. He went on a mission to California and graduated from Brigham Young University. He married Sandra Salin on January 2, 1976. Bill had worked in Central Services at Gundersen Lutheran for many years. He loved to feed the birds and other animals in his yard.
He is survived by his mother Lee, two brothers, Mark (Roxan) Schilling and Richard (Rayann) Schilling, a sister Lori Portner, nine nieces and nephews, April Killette, John, Matt, and Erin Schilling, Blais Portner, and Jacob, Caleb, Becca, and Leah Schilling, and seven great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra and his father Richard.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1thstth, 2013 at 11:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 701 Well St., Onalaska. Bishop Matthew Baker will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Service of Onalaska is in charge of arrangements
