Brian Patrick Walsh

Brian Patrick Walsh passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, surrounded by family at Bethany Riverside where he resided. True to his name, he was born on St. Patricks Day, March 17, 1958, to Barbara and James Walsh in La Crosse, WI. Brian graduated from Aquinas High School in 1976. While at Aquinas he met many life-long friends. He was a key player on the 1976 Aquinas Baseball Team that had a 19-2 record and finished 3thrdth in the WISAA State Tournament. After graduation, Brian became a route driver and merchandiser with Pepsi Cola until 2005 when he was no longer able to work.

Brian was the proud father of two sons, Kyle age 23 and Quinn age 20. He supported them as they pursued their academic, athletic and musical activities. He enjoyed following the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers. Brian was fortunate to be able to watch his son Kyle perform with the University of Wisconsin Marching Band while attending a WI Badger football game.

Throughout his courageous battle, Brian maintained his sense of humor and wit, much to the delight of his family and friends. Brian was also very appreciative of the many people who took part in his care over the years. His family would especially like to thank Dr. David Momont and the wonderful staff at Bethany Riverside.

He is survived by his two sons, Kyle and Quinn Walsh, a granddaughter Cecelia Rose, his mother Barbara Walsh, two sisters, Karen (Mark) Walsh-Ritter and Erin (Mike) Grosch, three brothers, Kevin (Joanne) Walsh, Neal (Carol) Walsh, and Chris Walsh, his ex-wife Dori Walsh, and eight nieces and nephews, Thomas and Nolan Ritter, Isabel Walsh, and Ian, Garrett, Connor, Torie, and Sophie Grosch. He was preceded in death by his father James.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate. Committal services will be held at a later date in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Service of La Crosse on Tuesday from 5:00 7:00 PM, and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, Memorials for Brian may be made to the organization of your choice
