Violet Mcmullin

Violet McMullin, 86, of La Crosse, died on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Hillview Health Care Center. She was born on August 13, 1926 in Alma, Oklahoma to Melvin and Florence (Riddle) Smith. She married Reginald McMullin on September 17, 1944 in Ardmore, OK. Violet had worked at the La Crosse Garment Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1971. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, knitting, quilting and gardening. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Asbury RAMP, Coulee Region Promenaders, and AARP.

She is survived by four children, Helen McMullin of La Crosse, Gary (Linda) McMullin of Mindoro, Janet (David) Villeneuve of Holmen, and Patricia Battaglia of Park Ridge, IL, seven grandchildren, Lisa (Douglas) Filips, Keli (Scott) Stach, Wendy Cook-McMullin, Colleen Miskowiak-McMullin, David (Lori) Ruegg, Kurt (Vicki) Ruegg, and Thomas Battaglia, twelve great-grandchildren, three sisters, Patsy Tillery, Barbara Palmer, and Betty Bullard, and two brothers, Ruffice Smith and Bobbie (Margaret) Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Reginald, a grandson Scott Battaglia, and four brothers, Charles, Melvin, Eugene and Clifton.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Asbury United Methodist Church. Pastor Scott McMurray will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum, Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
