Mary R Esser

Mary R. Esser, 61 of Elroy, WI, passed away at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse on Sunday, June 9, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in La Crosse on April 25, 1952 to Bernard and Bernadine (Mason) Esser.

Above all, Mary was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. Her favorite way to spend time was getting together with her family. She was a fantastic cook who loved to make her children's favorite meals for them. She enjoyed the holidays and went out of her way to make them special for her children and grandchildren. Mary was a big music fan, and especially enjoyed Willie Nelson. She also enjoyed taking care of, and spending time with, her dogs and cats.

Mary is survived by four daughters, Michelle (Mike) Devenport of Holmen, WI, Misty (Pat) Watters of Sparta, WI, Beth (Pat) Shaw of Elroy, WI,Katie (Clay) Kalember of French Island, WI, one son, Jack Seekamp (fianc, Jen) of Holmen, WI; six grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler, Payton, Rayanne, Chloe, and Grant; one brother, Ronald (Bev) Esser, of Kirksville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Laurie Seekamp; a brother, Jack Esser; and a special aunt, Ruth Esser.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services Onalaska chapel at 907 Sand Lake Rd. Pastor James Christensen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Onalaska City Cemetery. Friends may call on the family Friday morning at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of services.
