Arlene L Thompson

Arlene La Valle Thompson, 86 of La Crescent, MN, died on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at her home. She was born in Eau Galle, WI, on May 27, 1927 to Curtis and Cena (Hilmoe) Brathall. She married Allyn Thompson in Winona, MN, on September 27, 1947 and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1992.

Arlene had worked at the La Crescent Healthcare Center for many years and had volunteered and later worked at Hearten House in La Crosse. She had also volunteered for many years in area hospice programs. Arlene was a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in La Crescent.

She is survived by her four children; Allyn David Thompson of La Crosse, Nancy Louise (Kevin) Nelson of Holmen, WI, Steven Le Roy (Patty) Thompson of La Crescent, Pamela Jean (Bob) Bray of La Crescent, Eleven grandchildren, Meghan (Dan) Groothousen, Cameron and Anders Thompson, Jared and Erin Nelson, Harley Thompson, Jesse, Chelsie, Mitchell, Abbey, and Levi Bray, four great grandchildren, two brothers Robert Brathall of Baldwin, WI, and Douglas Brathall of New Richmond, WI, one sister in law Liz Brathall of Hudson, WI and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Allyn, she was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and one brother.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in La Crescent. Pastor Michael Woods will officiate. Private family burial will take place in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, La Crescent. Friends may call on the family Saturday morning at the church from 10:30 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Arlenes memory.
