Irene Houska

Irene A. Houska, 96 of La Crosse and formerly of La Crescent, MN, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Bethany St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse. She was born at home in Tomah, WI, on April 18, 1917 to John and Bertha (Sonnenberg) Lachelt. She married Ray Houska in La Crosse on June 19, 1948. She is survived by her husband Ray who is living in the same home they shared for 65 years, today would have been their 65th wedding anniversary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Leona. The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center for the loving kind care they provided to Irene during her stay there.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Pastor Roger Sachs will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at the Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call at the church on Thursday morning from 10 am until the time of services. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is in charge of arrangements.
