Scotty married Mary (Schmitz) Bluske on April 9, 1983. He loved to go out for fish on Fridays so Mary didnt have to cook. His favorite songs were, Oh Lord, Its Hard to be Humble and the Gamble. After golfing with his friends , they always made their way to the 19th hole. His houseboat, called the Mississippi Gambler, is where he entertained many family and friends while cruising up and down the Mississippi River. He was an excellent dancer in his younger days. In his later years, he enjoyed leading Texas Holdem tournaments at the Red Pines and MCs. Mary and Scotty traveled extensively to Europe, Australia, the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, and throughout the United States. A deck of cards has been in his hands since he was 14 years old. He was a member of the UTUs, 311, the Eagles Club and the Moose Lodge.
Scotty is survived by his five children and their families; daughter, Deborah Burke and Tim Richardi of La Crosse, his granddaughter, Sheila Burke and Matt Howard and great grandson, Thomas Howard; son, Michael (Michelle Seiler) Scott of La Crosse and his grandson, Travis McDermick; daughter, Sandra Scott of Onalaska and grandson Brandon Scott; son, Brian and (Tami Anderson) of Bangor, granddaughter Misty (Pat) Watters, great grandson, Grant Watters. granddaughter, Beth (Pat) Shaw, great granddaughter, Rayanne Shaw and grandson, Hunter Scott; son, Kevin (Shelba) Scott of French Island and grandson, Joshuah Scott.
Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by Marys children, Michael (Barb) Bluske, Derek (Crystal) Allard, Cassidy and Drake, Don (Rachel) Allard, Amaya, Sienna, Daelyn, Steve (Cindy) Bluske, Katie and Tyler. Scotty is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jim, grandson, Ryan Burke and Kathy and Debbie Bluske.
The family would like to thank the critical care unit and palliative care at Gundersen Health System of La Crosse.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 21 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Onalaska. Rev. Victor Feltes will officiate. Family and friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home (907 Sand Lake Road) on Thursday, June 20 from 4-7 p.m. with a prayer service being at 4 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Scottys motto was to live fast, love and leave a heartfelt memory. He died like he lived, doing it his way.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Building Fund at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Onalaska.
