Doris Linda Horton

Doris Linda Horton, 94, formerly of La Crescent, MN, died on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Bethany Riverside Nursing Facility. She was born on November 30, 1918 in Mondovi, WI to Reinhold and Elsie (Kaste) Wendt. She married Earl Wayne Horton on August 3, 1941 in Winona, MN. Doris worked as a legal secretary for attorney Robert Skemp for many years. She was a very active member of La Crescent United Methodist Church, and had volunteered at St. Francis Medical Center for many years.

Doris is survived by three children, Tim (Shirley) Horton, Bettye (Gene ONeil) Horton, and Amanda (Marty Blumenfeld) Horton, twelve grandchildren, Krista Brooks, Stacey McCluskey, Adam Maas, Jared Maas, Randy Kumm, Steve Kumm, Kathy Rosencutter, Brian Kumm, Scott Horton, Shawn Horton, Sara Horton and Steve Horton, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Lucille Helm and Idella Rutschow. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Mark, and grandson David Kumm, and a sister Lillian.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 22thndth, 2013 at 4:00 PM at the La Crescent United Methodist Church. Pastor Greg Nelson will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Bethany Riverside Lighthouse or Hearten House.
