Martin G Kurian

Martin G. Kurian, 79, of La Crosse, died on Sunday, July 7, 2013 in his home. He was born on May 24, 1934 in Marquette, Michigan to Martin and Esther ( Vonkx ) Kurian. Martin had worked at several different jobs, including supervisor at Shopko and New China Caf and in management at Red Sails and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed shopping, especially getting a bargain, and was known for his ability to cook. He was a member of St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in La Crosse. Martin was an avid Packers fan. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren . Marty was always known for being a kind man with a generous heart.

He is survived by his ex-wife Jeanne (Bill) Fregin of La Crosse, a son Douglas Frankenstein of Tomahawk, WI, a daughter Mary (Jim) Baliker of Madison, WI, three grandchildren Matthew Kurian of Wausau, WI, Megan Saunby of Denver, CO and Tristen Grimm of Medford, WI, three great grandchildren Trynia, Godric and Wynter all of Medford, WI, one brother Jim Kurian of Marquette, Michigan, many nieces and nephews and a good friend Paul Tischer of La Crosse. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings George, Ray, John and Mary.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Eagles Aerie Club, 228 5th Ave. S., La Crosse on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 4-7 PM. A private entombment was held at Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum, Woodlawn Cemetery.
