Vern Grover Arnett

Vern Grover Arnett, 52 of rural La Crescent, passed away at his home on Monday, July 22, 2013. He was born May 2, 1961 in La Crosse to Donald and Donna (Jenkins) Arnett and graduated from La Crescent High School in 1979. Verns entire life was proudly spent working as a partner on the family farm. He was a member of South Ridge United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, football and food. He was a kind man of few words who loved nature and was loved by his family.

Vern is survived by two sisters; Lynne Arnett of rural La Crescent and Kaye (David Bothe) Arnett of La Crescent; a brother, Lee (Mari) Arnett of Colorado Springs, CO; a step-father, Ralph (Ruth) Arnett of Houston, MN; two aunts, Norma Jenkins of Winnebago, MN and Gladys Riggott of Rochester, MN; along with many cousins and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 27th at South Ridge United Methodist Church; 1781 Chicken Ridge Road, La Crescent with Rev. Greg Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to South Ridge United Methodist Church or Hillcrest Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund. Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crescent is assisting the family.
