John J. Hoscheit, 55 of Onalaska, beloved husband, father and friend, died unexpectedly at a Tractor pull on Friday, August 2thndth, doing what he loved. He was born on December 18, 1957 in Caledonia, MN, to Paul and Gertie (Schwartzhoff) Hoscheit. He graduated from Caledonia High School. After high school, John attended WWTC and graduated with a degree in auto mechanics.

John married Jodi Wuske on January 22, 2000 and became father to Amanda and Rachel. In 2011 John graduated from WTC with high honors with a degree in horticulture and was employed by Bauers Market in La Crescent.

John loved tractor pulls and won many trophies, the most recent, a 2thndth place in Friday nights pull in Newry. John was a Wisconsin Master Gardener and was known for his 14 foot tomato plants. He was a member of the Gods Country Racing Association and could build a mean racing engine. He had also restored a classic Porsche.

John is survived by his wife Jodi of Onalaska, daughters Amanda (Wade) Brown of Onalaska, Rachel Hoscheit of Marshfield, WI, granddaughter Elizabeth Brown and the Tadpoles. He is further survived by two brothers , Robert (Karen) Hoscheit of Caledonia, Earl (Agnes) Hoscheit of Turtle Lake, WI, two sisters Mary (Dave) Smith of Onalaska, Janice (Richard) Larson of Eagan, MN, and many other family members and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Joseph and one sister Rita McNamara.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 West Ave. South, La Crosse. Pastor Roger Sachs will officiate. Friends may call on the family Friday evening from 5 until 7 P.M. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation La Crosse Chapel and again on Saturday at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Johns memory.
