He was born in Farmer City, Ill., on August 27, 1919, to Frank A. and Blanche (Oyler) Price. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. On September 11, 1948, Bob married Lovena E. Dialler, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman, whom he met while stationed at Fort McCoy, Wis.

Upon his discharge from the Army, Bob worked for several years as a delivery man for General Mills. He then worked for the Trane Company, retiring after 38 years as a foreman in the shipping department. Bob was an accomplished carpenter and handyman who was always willing and able to lend a helping hand to family and friends.

He was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1254 of La Crosse.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lovena; six children, Robert F. (Cheryl) Price of Kent, Wash., Ronald D. (Carol) Price of St. Louis Park, Minn., Mary Y. Price of Onalaska, Barbara J. Cavanaugh of Onalaska, Michael J. (Paula) Price of Holmen, and John G. (Donna) Price of Onalaska; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Lyle Price of Chenoa, Ill., and Charles (Anne) Price of Leroy, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Martha Price of Leroy, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Steven; three sisters, Florence Fear, Frances Bottles, and Mary Hoffman; and a brother, George Price.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 30th, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Onalaska. Msgr. Steven Kachel will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services-Onalaska Chapel on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., where a prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m., and at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or MADD
