She is survived by three children, Raymond Lucky (Cheryl) Lasanske, Sharon Michalski and Linda Schottey. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Vi and Ray took in many foster children over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, two sisters, and a daughter Yvonne Thienes.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday October 14, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church in Sussex, Wisconsin, with visitation starting at 10:30. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at her granddaughters place, Kathys Buffalo Bar in Watertown, Wisconsin.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful people who cared for her at Brookdale Senior Living and Hillview Health Care Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mt. Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, La Crosse, WI, or New Life Resource Center, La Crosseor Faith Lutheran Church in Sussex
