She married Walter Huebner in La Crescent. They enjoyed 44 years together, hunting, fishing, boating, dancing and playing cards with family & friends. They did a lot of traveling in their younger days. She liked to go for rides in the country side. Frances also liked to watch the Minnesota Twins.
Frances was a cook at the La Crescent Elementary & High Schools. Later she worked at Central High School for many years which she enjoyed. She retired in 1988.
In addition to her husband Walter, she is survived by 2 daughters Dianna (Robert) Cronin of La Crescent, Helen (Leon) Thicke of La Crescent, 3 grandsons, William (Michelle) Oldenburg, Tom (Noreen) Oldenburg, & Scott (Erin) Oldenburg, one granddaughter Tina (Andy) Speltz, five great grandchildren Justin & Alexis Oldenburg, Jonathan, Eli, and Addison Speltz, one brother Richard (Lucy) Johnson of Caledonia and one niece and two nephews, many cousins; two step-daughters, Cindy (Tommy) Tilley & their children, Sharon McCombs and her children all of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, also a grandson Daniel Thicke and his wife Wendy of La Crescent and a Granddaughter in law Kathy Oldenburg of Hokah, MN.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in La Crescent . Pastor Michael Woods will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery in La Crosse. Friends may call on the family Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 P.M. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crescent chapel, 111 South Oak St. and again on Wednesday morning at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
