Mary Marie Lamkin, 47, of La Crosse, died on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health System, La Crosse. She was born in La Crosse on August 22, 1966 to Robert and Gloria (Sanderson) Stanton. Mary graduated from Onalaska High School in 1984. She had worked at Cub Foods for 15 years, Centurytel for five years, and then at Gundersen Lutheran for nine years. She married Dan Lamkin on June 1, 2007. Mary was an avid Chicago Bears fan, loved the band U2 and followed them all over the Midwest, and enjoyed her annual Halloween pumpkin carving contest. If she wasnt out fishing; she was watching the Bears or listening to U2.
She is survived by her husband Dan, her parents Robert and Gloria Stanton, a brother Mark Stanton, a sister Jolene (Allen) Herlitzke-Foss, her father and mother-in-law, Ronald and Dorothy Lamkin, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Matthew Herlitzke.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 4:00 PM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Service of La Crosse. Rev. Timothy Lamkin will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 PM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. The family would like to give a special thank-you to the Mayo Clinic ICU staff for the wonderful care they gave Mary.
Mary will always be in our hearts, as everyone was in hers.
