Therese was born on September 1thstth, 1940, in Genoa, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Hulda (Levondoski) Trussoni. Therese graduated from Aquinas High School in 1958. She married Philip Jerome Hess on August 16th, 1958, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She later finished her degree as an LPN at Western Wisconsin Technical College in 1972, all while raising her children. Therese spent most of her career as an LPN at local health care facilities and especially enjoyed working with the elderly and mentally challenged. Most recently, Therese was passionate about her post-retirement job as an Avon representative. Thereses hobbies included camping with her husband, crocheting, scrapbooking, reading novels, and truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also cherished her time teaching religion classes at St. Josephs Ridge parish.
Therese is survived by her husband of 55 years, Philip; daughters, Christine (Robert) Dowiasch of Onalaska, Joanne Sims of West Salem, and Renee Bahr of La Crosse; and sons, Mark (Beckie) Hess of Deforest, Doug (Ellen) Hess of Westby, and Philip (Alicia) Hess IV of La Crosse. She is also survived by her sister Lena Amundson of West Salem; brothers-in-law, Edward Hess of La Crosse and Gerald Hess of Mabel, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Broker of Bloomfield, N. Mex. and Jean Labus of Baraboo, Wis. Therese is further survived by her 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends that were all dear to her heart. She also enjoyed snuggling with her little dog, Peanut.
Therese was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Hulda Trussoni; daughter, Beatrice Hess; grandsons, Anthony and Adam Bahr; sisters, Beatrice Drendel, Eileen Otto, and Hulda Ann Lemke; brothers, Frederick and Joseph Trussoni; and sister in law, Carol Bentzen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 19th, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Josephs Catholic Church, St. Joseph Ridge. Msgr. Michael Gorman will officiate. Private family burial will take place at a later date at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Genoa, Wis. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM, with a reciting of the Rosary at 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass.
