Debra (Debbie) A. Woodliff, 59, of La Crosse peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 23thrdth, 2013 at Mayo Health System in La Crosse.

Debbie was born on July 14, 1954 to James and Barbara (Brueggeman) Martin in La Crosse.After the sudden death of Debbies mother, James later married Arlene (Meier) Martin in July 1964.Throughout Debbies childhood, she attended Crucifixion, Cathedral and St. Patricks Catholic School.Debbie later graduated from Onalaska High School in 1972.

After attending WWTC, she was employed as a legal secretary at Mc Donald Law Firm.She later worked at Machine Products where she met her husband Dan Woodliff.They were married on June 4th, 1977 at St. Patricks Parish in Onalaska.In 1981, Debbie went to work for Steve Palen, Ed Hanson and Jerry Kulinski at Investors Diversified Services (IDS) which to date is known as Ameriprise.On April 30, 1982, Dan and Debbie welcomed their son Daryl James (D.J.) into the world.

Up until her death, Debbie found great fulfillment in her work, her co-workers and their clients.Debbie was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, godmother and friend.She reached out to hundreds of people that she encountered one at a time.Her numerous friends have many stories of her lasting friendship and how she was ALWAYS there for others.Her family continues to meet people whose lives were better because of their relationship with Debbie.

Debbie is survived by her son Daryl (D.J.) Woodliff and his special friend Kim Strittmater of La Crosse, her mother Arlene Martin of Onalaska, her siblings; Cathy (Paul) Olson of Holmen, Carol Goergen (Steve) Fenske of Elgin, MN, Michael (Beth) Martin of Madison, Steven Charlie (Dawn) Martin of La Crosse and Ann (Kevin) Hatlestad of Chanhassen, MN, her very special friend Jack Hentges and his family (his mother Mercedes, his brother Jim (Vickie) Hentges and their children; Allison, Melissa and Ben).Her nieces and nephews; Kristen (John) Marcou, Kevin (Tabatha) Olson, Nikki, Hunter and Tanner Goergen, Lauryn, Bailey and Ben Martin, Katie and Hannah Hatlestad.Her great nieces and nephews; Jameson, Jordyn, Jonathan and Jackson Marcou, Damek, Mykalia, Kadin Olson and Ashtyn and Braedyn Sullivan, her Uncle Jim (Leah) Brueggeman, Uncle Bernard Meier, her great Aunt Irene (Harold) Martini and many cousins.Debbie was loved by many and held a special place in her heart for Jerry Kulinski and her numerous high school classmates- all of whom where with her to her last day.The family would like to thank everyone that was part of Debbies care including those within the Cancer Center and the 7thfloor Medical Care team.A special thank you to Dr. Jonathan Ticku, Donna Kaman, NP, Dr. Rachel Overton and Registered Nurses; Angie, Mary, Bonita and Jessica.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Keith Goergen, her grandparents Charles and Louise Martin, Joseph and Catherine Brueggeman, and Anna Meier.

Friends and family may call the Shumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Monday, October 28th, 2013.Visitation will begin at4:00 p.m.concluding with the rosary at7:00 p.m.A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Patricks Parish in Onalaska on Tuesday, October 29th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Monsignor Steven Kachel.Visitation will be held at St. Patricks starting at9:30 a.m.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Debbies honor to the Coulee Region Humane Society, the Mayo Clinic Health System Cancer Center and Palliative Care in La Crosse or the St. Patricks Parish Building Fund.
