Lois June Christopherson, 82, of Onalaska, died at her home on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. She was born to Robert and Alice (Amundson) Bryngelson in Barron, Wisconsin on March 22, 1931. She married Paul Christopherson in Dallas, Wisconsin on February 18, 1950. For seven years, Lois and Paul co-owned and operated Christys Market on the northside of La Crosse. Lois worked as a sales associate, retiring from Daytons/Macys Department Store after working for them for 16 years. Lois was an excellent cook and baker and she enjoyed entertaining her family and friends especially on the holidays.
Lois is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Paul; daughters; Carol (David) Porath, Lisa (Robert) Richardson; sons; Terry ( Teresa Tanke) Christopherson, James (Marion Naegle) Christopherson, Jason (Sonja) Christopherson, grandchildren; Luke (Brooke) Christopherson, Joel Christopherson, Melissa (Barry) Hewitt and Amanda Porath (John Bouteiller), great-grandchildren; Kaylee, Cooper, Tucker, and Chloe, brother; Vernon (Lucy) Bryngelson and by extended family and dear friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Lorraine and Bernice.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of Onalaska with Rev. David Leistekow officiating. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. The family would like to thank Gundersen Health System Hospice as well as the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Western Wisconsin and the Alzheimers Family and Caregivers Support Program for all their care and support shown to Lois and her family. Memorials may be given to Gundersen Health System Hospice Program.
