Tyler Jon Horihan

Tyler was born in La Crosse on July 19, 1985, to Sharon Horihan and John La Fleur. He lived in the La Crescent-Hokah area, Texas, Germany, and Alaska while growing up due to his fathers military career, eventually settling in Spring Grove, Minn. and graduating from Spring Grove High School in 2004. Tyler was employed as a laborer by CM Construction in Holmen at the time of his death.

Tyler was known as a kind, big-hearted person who always had a smile on his face; a friend who was always there when needed. He adored his son, Rylan, and truly treasured time spent with his family. In his free time, he loved to be outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and bow hunting.

Tyler is survived by his mother, Sharon (Dan Albert) Horihan of Spring Grove, Minn.; his father, John (Dawn) La Fleur of Fairbanks, Alaska; his siblings, Matthew La Fleur of Grand Haven, Mich., Hilary (Sam) Schultz of Mazeppa, Minn., Danika Albert of Spring Grove, and Noah and McKenna La Fleur of Fairbanks; his maternal grandparents, John and Mary Horihan of Hokah, Minn.; paternal grandparents, Steve and Gloria Haugen of Onalaska and Roslind Evans of Onalaska; a maternal great grandmother, Margaret Humfeld of La Crosse; many aunts, uncles and cousins who were very special to Tyler; and Rylans mother, Chrissy Reichert of Onalaska. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John La Fleur, Sr., and an aunt, Karen Horihan-Zenke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 13th, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peters Catholic Church in Hokah. Rev. Pratap Reddy Salibindla will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Hokah. Family and friends may call at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services - La Crescent Chapel, located at 111 South Oak St., on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used for Rylans future education needs.
