He was born in La Crosse on June 13, 1928, to Herbert and Anna (Johnson) Fauver. He attended La Crosse area schools and was a graduate of Logan High School. Frank served with the U.S. Marines in China during World War II and, following his honorable discharge, attended diesel repair school in Chicago. On February 12, 1972, Frank married Patricia A. Ritter in La Crosse.
Frank owned and operated Fauver Dredging Company for about 20 years. After leaving the dredging business, he continued working as a heavy equipment repairman until his retirement. Frank was also an accomplished woodworker and craftsman. Throughout his life, he made many pieces of furniture including all of the furniture, woodwork, and cabinetry in his own home. In his free time, Frank enjoyed being outdoors whether he was out in the woods hunting or simply sitting under a tree and enjoying a quiet moment. He was a past member of the La Crosse Rifle Club and successfully participated in many long-range shooting competitions when he was younger.
Frank is survived by his wife, Pat; two daughters, Margaret Fauver of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Elizabeth Krigsvold of West Salem; and a grandson, Samual Krigsvold of West Salem. He is further survived by a niece, Frances Hauser, and her daughter Cindy Hauser, both of La Crosse; nephew, Steve (Veda) Fauver of Blue River, Wis.; niece, Suzanne (Dennis) Brown of Muscoda, Wis.; and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 13th, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crescent Chapel, located at 111 So. Oak St. Memorials may be directed to the Hillside Animal Clinic, Town and Country Veterinary Clinic, or the La Crosse Rifle Club.
