Marietta Louise Krueger

d. November 10, 2013

Marietta married Allen Krueger on June 11, 1960 in La Crosse. In 1961 she and Allen built their house on the south side of La Crosse, which was her home until her passing. She loved traveling and made sure a casino stop would be included in most trips. An avid Packer fan, she ranked them at the top of her list (win or lose), but playing cards ranked even higher. Marietta was first at the table to challenge anyone to a good game of Euchre and you better bring your A game. She also enjoyed Thursday Euchre at the Onalaska American Legion until her health forced her to retire from card playing.

In addition to her husband Allen, she is survived by her brothers, Raymond (Joanne) Zimmerman of Florida and Gary (Barbara) Zimmerman of Holmen, 12 nieces and nephews, and very special family friends, Irene Hoesley and Mary Wieman of La Crosse. In addition to her beloved sons, Mark and Michael, she was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Earl Colver, father and mother-in-law, Armand and Gladys, sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis (LaVern) Spaeth, and step-brother Arlyn Colver.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14th, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Service of La Crosse, 200 West Avenue So. Pastor Jonathan Rimmert will officiate and burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, La Crosse.

Allen would like to extend special thanks to the entire 9th floor staff at Mayo Clinic Health System of La Crosse for the exceptional care Zim received.
