He was born in La Crosse on January 23, 1976, to Gary and Kimberly (Volden) Butterfield. He attended schools in Holmen and La Crosse and graduated from Central High School in 1994. Jason had been employed by Goodyear and Sprint and was currently employed at CenturyLink. Jasons interests included fishing, photography, computers, and anything else technical. He was an avid Star Wars fan, enjoyed collecting retro items from the 1950s, and was proud of the many tattoos he acquired over the years. Jason is survived by his children, James Richard and Joseph Robert, both of La Crosse, and Jalen Ann Marie of Cataract, Wis.; his mother, Kimberly Volden-Burgus (Mike Burgus) of Holmen; his father, Gary Butterfield (Desiree) of La Crosse; his sister, Amy Butterfield of Holmen; two half-sisters, Heather Gooch (Nathan) of Oklahoma City, Okla., and KaTrina Butterfield of La Crosse; his maternal grandparents, James and Judy Volden of La Crosse; and his nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jess Ray and Lillian Butterfield. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 5th, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, La Crosse Chapel, located at 200 West Ave. So. Private entombment will take place in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
