Kirk L Wehrenberg

Kirk played hockey since he was 6 years old and earned several High School hockey awards. He went on to play hockey at WU-Eau Claire.

He also enjoyed playing soccer and golf in High School. In his adult life, golf became a passion and he scored the elusive hole-in-one. Kirk loved music and was a self-taught guitar player. Another interest of his was cooking and he was often referred to as a gourmet chef without the credentials. He was a movie buff, enjoyed traveling and fantasy football.

He had an adventurous nature and spent hours riding the dirt trails in WI, AZ and CO with his dirt bike. Often described as humble and a wonderful friend, he had a great sense of humor and wit. No one could deliver a joke like Kirk. He was loved by his nieces

, nephew and his entire family and will be missed dearly.He is survived by his parents, Robert and Lorene; brother, Eric (Kerri) Wehrenberg of Denver, CO; sister Cara (John Hutzenbuhler) of Lenexa, KS; nieces, Jaidan Royal, Anna and Ella Wehrenberg; nephew Tanner Royal; aunt and uncle Lanette and Rich Sporl of Satellite Beach, FL; cousins Emily Sporl of Austin, TX; Jason Sporl of Huntington Beach, CA; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his fraternal Grandparents, Robert and Aida Wehrenberg; maternal Grandparents, Melvin and Dorothy Oftedahl; uncle, Roger Wehrenberg; and aunt, Kathy Wehrenberg.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 6th at First Lutheran Church, 410 Main St., Onalaska. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Rev. Jason Stanton will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ellsworth, WI at a later date. We wish to thank all who were involved in his care during his illness. He has met his health challenge with immense courage and character. He had tremendous empathy for young children who faced similar challenges and expressed his desire to help them.Memorials can be made in honor of Kirk to Children's Miracle Network.
