Yia Yang Thao

Yia was born on May 2, 1955 in Phou Khoun, Laos to Pang Ge and Chou (Her) Yang. In June 1978, she married Samuel Ning Sou Thao in Ban Vinai, Thailand. They moved to the United States in March of 1979 and together they had 10 children: Linda, Kong Ming, Oldshemian, Nou Chee, Leng, Joua, Nya Kou, Pang Foua, Gao Shoua and Angel. They are also blessed with 15 grandchildren.

Yia lived her life praising God and is a member of the Hmong Faith Alliance Church. She was blessed with many friends who loved her and prayed for her. She enjoyed gardening, reading and needle working. She loved being with her family and friends. Yia had a beautiful smile and was friendly and compassionate to all she met. She will be greatly missed.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, January 5 from 2 to 9 p.m. at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse and on Monday at the funeral home from 8 to 10 am.
