Robert had owned and operated Bobs Archery of La Crosse for 19 years, then began a career as a long haul truck driver for Earl Bonsack Trucking until his retirement. In his spare time, Robert was an avid hunter and enjoyed competing in firearm and archery tournaments and attending gun shows. Watching televised sports and showing up two hours early for his grand kids sporting events were also important to him.
He is survived by his three sons, Scott Vieaux of Onalaska, Rob (Chris) Vieaux of Onalaska, Mike Vieaux of Baraboo, WI, five grandchildren, Tony, Brooke, Taylor, Kirsten, Shani and one sister Marirose Briggs of Green Bay, Wi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Buddy.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Onalaska. Monsignor Steven Kachel will officiate. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services Onalaska chapel, 907 Sand Lake Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Roberts memory.
