Joyce Ruth Theobald

Joyce Ruth Theobald, 78, of West Salem, died on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Mulder Health Care Facility. She was born on December 11, 1935 in Sand Creek, WI to Harold and Myrtle (Anderson) Latham. Joyce grew up in Bloomer, WI and graduated from Bloomer High School and from the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis. She married Thomas E. Theobald on September 5, 1959 in Caledonia, MN. Over the years Joyce was very active with the Sons of Norway. She worked at La Crescent High School, WKBT, Continental Can, Tupperware, and as a piano teacher. She also played the accordion and drums in several bands.

Joyce is survived by her sixchildren, Mary (Ronald) Corn, Sara Theobald Anderson, Michael Theobald, John (Billie) Theobald, Edward Theobald, and Jennifer (Larry) Froegel, her grandchildren, Steven and Scott (Rachelle)Kelly, Stephanie Kelly Van Riper, Ryan Corn, Jeremy, Daniel and Amy Anderson, Gregory and Nicholas (Victoria)Theobald, and Jessica and Jamie Theobald, her great grandchildren, Allison, Alexis, Alyssa, Michael, Robert, Ethan, Melayna, and Alvin, a brother Theodore Ted (Jean) Latham, nephews, Theodore (Colleen) Latham II, Ole (Linda) Latham, and Eric (Carol) Latham, a niece Sonya (Tom) Mix, and great nieces and nephews, Phillip, Shannon, Erin, Allison, Nicole, Michelle, and Alexandra. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, her parents and a brother Robert.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crescent, 111 So. Oak St. Pastor Alvin Jarvinen will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hokah, MN. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
