Esther Pielhop

Esther E. Pielhop, 90, of La Crosse, died on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Stanley, WI. She was born on November 16, 1923 in Tacoma,WA to Raymond and Edith (Tennant) Hild. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Oberlin, Ohio. On January 6, 1952 she married Ferdinand 'Fred' Pielhop in Anchorage, Alaska. Esther taught piano and organ lessons in the La Crosse area from 1952 until she moved to an Assisted Living Facility in Stanley, WI in 2010. Being a member of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association, her former piano students participated annually in

competitions, with many earning superior ratings.

She is survived by a son Bob (Judy) Pielhop of Eau Claire, daughter-in-law Phyllis Pielhop of La Crosse, three grandchildren Angie (Jeffery) Crane, Ben (Megann) Pielhop and Jennifer Pielhop, a great granddaughter Charlotte Crane along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her

husband Fred and a son Jim.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30p.m. on Sunday, February 9,2014 at the Schumacher- Kish Funeral

and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse. Pastor Pauline Bangle will officiate. Burial will take place in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be donated in Esther's name.
