Patricia Mary Worman

Patricia Mary Worman, 83, of La Crosse, passed away at Hillview Health Care Center on Saturday morning, February 8, 2014. She was born on July 12, 1930, to J. P. and Myrtle (Hammond) Dorsey. Pat graduated from Logan High School with the class of 1948. She married Paul Laverne Worman on September 23, 1950, at the Methodist Church in Retreat, Wis. She worked for the Trane Company as a secretary to the draftsman until the birth of her first child.

Pat enjoyed entertaining in her home for family and friends. She was an excellent cook and took much pleasure in hosting holiday gatherings and special occasions. She also enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her granddaughters while they were growing up. Pat was involved with the Boys and Girls Scout Programs. She delivered Mobile Meals with Dorothy Hackett in La Crosse for almost 20 years. She also volunteered at Asbury United Methodist Church with communion and assisting with the churchs newsletter every month for many years. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, word searches, baking cookies with her granddaughters, and decorating her home for the holidays. In her younger years, Pat enjoyed hosting card and Tupperware parties for her friends. Pat took pride in remembering birthdays and special occasions for everyone involved in her life. She was also very proud of her Irish heritage. Also, since Pat never learned to drive, she was grateful for her friend, Marlene Riepel, for taking her on many outings and events in the community. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Myrtle; and a nephew, Stephen Walters. She is survived by her husband, Paul; her son, Michael, and his daughters, Ashley and Sarah; her daughter, Susan; one sister, Dorothy Ann (Dorsey) and her husband, Richard Walters, and their children, Stephanie, Cheryl and Stacy. She was further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins on both sides of the family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15th, at 11:00 a.m., at Faith United Methodist Church, (formerly Asbury UMC), 1818 Redfield St., La Crosse. Rev. Scott McMurray will officiate. Burial will take place in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park at a later date. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Faith United Methodist Church.
