Howard P. Antony, 86, of Onalaska, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. He was born on January 5, 1928 in Bangor, WI to Christopher and Elsie (Weinke) Antony. He graduated from Cashton High School in 1946. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from August 1947 to December 1953. He married Jeanette Leis on June 12, 1951 at St. Marys Ridge and she preceded him in death. He married Joan Quillin on July 27, 1991 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Onalaska. Howard had worked at the Tomah VA from 1954 1968 and then at Fort McCoy from 1968 until retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Onalaska, The Knights of Columbus, American Legion DAV and VFW all in Tomah. He also volunteered at Franciscan Skemp Hospital for many years. He is survived by his wife Joan of Onalaska, daughters Calene (Wayne) Muehlenkamp of Sparta and Colette (Warren) Johnson of Onalaska, sons Todd (Michelle) Antony of Tomah and Terry (Sheila) Antony of Oakdale, WI, step daughters Michelle (Brian) Reinke of Milwaukee, Maureen (David) Novak of Milwaukee, Melissa (Shawn) Bowers of Green Bay, Maribeth (Larry) Holzer of West Monroe, LA, and Molly Simmert of Hartland, WI, a stepson Michael Quillin of Milwaukee, grandchildren Peter (Annetra) Muehlenkamp, Don (Jenni) Muehlenkamp, Lindsey Johnson, Tara Eckelberg (fiance Billy Currrin), Amber Antony (fiance Michael Baumgarten, and Silken Antony (fiance Jake Willems), step grandchildren Curt Richards, Kyle Martin, Robbie Burrows, Sam and Alex Reinke, Amanda and Alyssa Mozejewski, Megan and Maya Novak, Maxwell and Mason Bowers, Cade and Peyton Quillin, Luke and Adam Simmert, great grandchildren Garrett, Taran and Madelyn Muehlenkamp, Gavin and Kaden Baumgarten, Brooklyn Burrows, Gabriella Currin, Addison Martin, Carter and Natalie Richards, step great grandchildren Morgan Nockels, Devin and Hunter Marti, one sister Mildred Larson of Cashton along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Jeanette, infant daughter Patricia, brother Larry Antony, sisters Alvera Ball and Winifred Phillips and a step grandson Matthew Small. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Onalaska. Msgr. Steven Kachel will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Marys Cemetery in Tomah, WI. Friends may call at the Schumacher Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 907 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska on Wednesday from 5-7 PM where a prayer service will be held at 5:00 PM and again at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
