Thelma Wiedman

Thelma Wiedman, 79, of La Crosse, died on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. She was born on January 15, 1935 in La Crosse to Ronald and Louise (Bearwald) Peterson. Thelma graduated from Central High School in 1953. She loved her back porch because it was the place that all of her friends and family would gather to laugh, celebrate, reminisce and share. She enjoyed her flower garden, reading, knitting scarves for the Salvation Army, cross stitching, and traveling. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her friends and neighbors. Most of all she loved being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry, her children and grandchildren, Laurie (Scott) Plate of Atlanta, GA and their children Matt and Rachel, and Jeff (Bobbi) Wiedman of La Crosse and their daughter Abby, and a brother Paul (Karen) Peterson of Elmwood, WI.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 6:00 PM at English Lutheran Church. Pastor Melinda Pupillo will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 4:30 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
