Barbara Nancy Schroeder

Until she became ill, Barb was on the board of the 4,000 Foundation and was active with the La Crosse County Historical Society. She was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Barbs interests included travel, reading, birding, and railroads. She sold several articles to national retirement magazines.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents of La Crosse and by her sister Arlene (Jack) Colley of Moyock, North Carolina. She is survived by cousins including Pat Cuellar (Steve) and Rita Harris, both of Waupaca, Wisconsin plus many close friends.

Barb gives many thanks to Mary Lund; Sheila Johnson; Deb and Mike Anderson; Jan and Mark Eriksen; Hospice of Gundersen Health System, La Crosse; Hospice of Apache Junction, Arizona; and numerous friends and colleagues who assisted with her care in recent years.

A celebration of Barbs life and faith will be held Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Damiano Chapel on the Viterbo University campus. The Rev. Dr. William Reese of Viterbo University and Fr. Conrad Targonski, OFM, Viterbo University Chaplain will officiate. Visitation will occur at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be given to the Coulee Region Humane Society or to Jims Grocery Bag Fund of the La Crosse Community Foundation. Private burial will be at the Mormon Coulee Memorial Park at a later date. Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse is assisting with arrangements.
