Mary J Dolezel

Mary J. Dolezel, 81, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Hillview Health Care Center. She was born on August 23, 1932 in La Crosse to Leonard and Kathryn (Hansen) Wavra. Mary graduated from Cashton High School. She married David J. Dolezel on September 20, 1952 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton. Mary had worked as a bookkeeper but she always put her family first and spent most of her time taking care of them. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed reading, gardening and her flowers, and playing cards and kismet with family and friends. She enjoyed all sports and was a diehard Cubs fans, and also liked the Brewers and Packers.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Philip) Braun and Linda (David) Berry, three sons, Thomas (Alicia) Dolezel, James (Lynn) Dolezel, and Steven (Brenda) Dolezel, twelve grandchildren, Kelly (Randy) Schwarz, Amy (Jesse Jerome) Braun, Jennifer and Brittany Berry, Joy and Nathan Dolezel, Bradley Dolezel, Andrea (Ryan) Wehner, and Matthew, Kyle, Brandi and Brooke Dolezel, thirteen great-grandchildren, Brandon, MacKenzie, Jacob, Caleb, Cailyn, Eliza, Ruby, Olivia, Abigail, Drake, Trista, Kara and Payton, two sisters-in-law, Margaret Niedzwiecki and Betty Anderson, a brother-in-law, John Dolezel, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband David, her parents, a sister-in-law Marian Dolezel, and two brothers-in-law, Richard Anderson and Joe Niedzwiecki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 1thstth, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate. Entombment will be in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse on Monday from 5:00 7:00 PM and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 4:45 PM
