Mazie Luella La Fleur, 96, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the Hillview Health Care Center.

She was born on July 14, 1917, in Sundance, Wyoming, to Maurice Lee Brown and Mabel Helen (Baker) Brown. She lived in St. Paul, Minn., with her parents until she was 8 years old. Her family then moved to La Crosse where she lived the rest of her life. Mazie graduated from Central High School in 1935. She was married to John A. Pedersen and they later divorced. She then was married Russell La Fleur for 49 years before he preceded her in death on November 6, 1996. She was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church in La Crosse. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening, but most of all going to church and spending time with her family and friends. Mazie is survived by one son, Scott La Fleur of La Crosse; two daughters, Joyce Silha of Onalaska and Arlene Anderson of San Antonio, Texas; one granddaughter, Stacy Evenson of Houston, Texas; three grandsons, Pastor Jeff Silha of Bancroft, Wis., and Chris and Mike Anderson of San Antonio; six great grandchildren, Lauren Evenson of Houston, Texas, Nathan Evenson of Austin, Texas, Phillip Anderson and Ashley Anderson and Mike Jr. of San Antonio, and K.J. Silha of Bancroft, Wis.; one great, great granddaughter, Azlin of San Antonio; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; son-in-law, Neal Silha; grandson, Keith Silha; a brother, William Brown and sister-in-law, Annette Brown; one niece and four nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5th, at 10:30 a.m, at Temple Baptist Church, 1326 North Salem Road, in La Crosse. Pastor Daniel Habegger will officiate with Pastor Andrew Buhrow assisting. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Private graveside services will take place at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park.
