Loretta M. Schneider, 72, of Dresbach, MN, died on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in La Crescent. She was born on July 22, 1941 in La Crescent to Lorenz and Eleanor (Nelson) Hafner. Loretta graduated from St. Peters School in Hokah where she was the valedictorian for the class of 1959. She later graduated from Viterbo University with a degree in accounting. She married John Schneider on August 12, 1961 in St. Peters Catholic Church, Hokah. Loretta worked in the Finance Department at Viterbo University for thirteen years before her retirement. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, camping, square dancing, and in her later years she enjoyed playing online games with people all over the world.

She is survived by her husband John of Dresbach, three daughters, Mary (Tony) Vasquez of St. Paul, MN, Lori (Scott) Schaffer of Bethel, CT, and Janel (Tom) Schroeder of Medina, OH, two sons, Mike Schneider of Burnsville, MN and John Paul (Cheri) Schneider of Mosinee, WI, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two sisters, Rita Dolle of Coon Rapids, MN and Margaret (Harry) Masloski of Scandia, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son John David, and a sister, Katherine Sweeney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dakota, MN. Rev. Gregory Havel will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Dakota. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crescent on Sunday from 4:00 6:00 PM and at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of services
