Carol Jean Summerfeld, 78, of Holmen, died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. She was born on October 2, 1935 in Milwaukee to Bruno and Lillian (Kuklinski) Wolochek. Carol married Gordon Summerfeld on September 8, 1956 in Milwaukee. She had worked for many years at Niebeling Landscaping. Carol loved to crochet, play cards, and spend time with her family. She always looked forward to trips up north on her birthday. Carol had served as President of the Onalaska American Legion Auxiliary, President of the 7th District Auxiliary, and Grand President of the Cabane for the State of Wisconsin.

She is survived by her husband Gordon, a son Jeff (Kelly) of Onalaska, a daughter Lori (Bud) Manes of Port Richey, FL, two grandchildren, Michael (Brianna) Summerfeld and Matt Manes, two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and MacKenzie, a sister Patricia (Ray) Julie of Fond du Lac, WI, a brother John (Lynn) Wolochek of New Berlin, WI, a sister-in-law Arline Budde of Wilton, WI and a brother-in-law Richard Sommerfeldt of Tomah, WI.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 14th, 2014 at 10:30 AM at First Lutheran Church, Onalaska. Pastor Jason Stanton will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to First Lutheran Church, Onalaska. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of Onalaska is in charge of arrangements.
