Rita Ann Watters - Rita A. Watters, 72 of Hokah, Minn., passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. She was born in Sparta, Wis. on January 9, 1942 to Herman and Ines (Schultz) Dinger. She graduated from St. Peters Catholic school in Hokah and later received her teaching degree from La Crosse State University and spent a few years teaching in area country schools. On October 8, 1966 she married Chet Watters Jr. and they later divorced.

Rita worked for several years at Decomet / Northern Engraving in Sparta before moving with her five children to La Crosse. Later she moved to Hokah in order to assist her elderly parents. Rita was devoted to her family and was generous to a fault. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and snuggling in her recliner with her cat Gizzy. She was also always ready for a good debate. Steadfast in her faith; Rita had been an active member of St. Peters parish before her illness.

Rita is survived by one daughter Laura (Paul) Giertych of Holmen, Wis. three sons, Brian, Rod (Chris) of Hokah and Jeffery of Winona, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents a son Daniel and daughters Patricia and Sarah.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Hokah. Rev. Pratap Reddy Salibindla will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Johns Summit Catholic Cemetery, Norwalk, Wis. Friends may call on the family Monday morning at the church from 9:00 am until the Mass begins.
