Marcella Olson, 94, formerly of La Crosse died on Monday, May 12, 2014. She was born on May 18, 1919 in La Crosse to Matthew and Marie (Burke) Karis. She married Melvin T. Olson on September 11, 1943 in La Crosse. She was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Marcella enjoyed yard work, Promenader square dancing and round dancing with her husband. She had worked at Jack Winter and the Garment Company. She is survived by a daughter, Diane (Deane) Kishel of Golden Valley, MN; two sons, David M. of La Crosse and Denis J. (Carol) of Cedar Rapids, IA; five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Melvin; three brothers, James (Sylvia), Cletus (Phyllis) and Sylvester (Mary) Karis; and three sisters, Helen (Bill) Tietze of La Crosse, Beverly (Floyd) Tolley of La Crosse and Dorothy (Edward) Mortenson of Kenosha.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 10:30 A.M. at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Reverend Doug Robertson officiating. Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on May 17th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be given to Mary, Mother of the Church or the donor's choice.
