Dolores Elizabeth Rachubinski
Dolores Elizabeth Rachubinski, 92 of La Crosse died on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Silverado Senior Living Center in Brookfield, WI. She was born May 23, 1922 in Freeburg, MN to Joseph and Mary (Frank) Deufel and graduated from Caledonia High School in 1940. Prior to her marriage she had worked at Doerflingers and as a medical assistant to Dr. J.E. Heraty in the Rivoli Building in downtown La Crosse. On April 30, 1946 she married William V. Rachubinski at St. Peters Catholic Church in Caledonia, MN and he preceded her in death on September 30, 1999. Dolores worked at St. Francis Hospital in various positions from 1960 until her retirement in 1985. Following her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at St. Francis Hospital and at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish wherever and whenever she was needed. She especially loved attending the mother/daughter breakfasts for many years at the church. Dolores enjoyed gardening, her vineyard and spending time with her family. Dolores is survived by her twelve children; Mary (James) McShane of Tallahassee, FL, Ann (Scott) Goetsch of East Troy, WI, Rita Joern of Aurora, CO, Karen Rachubinski of East Troy, WI, Barbara (Dale) Johnson of La Crosse, Joan (Steve) Clements of Stoddard, Susan Beilke of Lake Forest, IL, Donna (Jeffrey) Friess of Waukesha, WI, Laura (Greg) Smikla of Woodbury, MN, Michael (Maggie) Rachubinski of Parker, CO, Thomas (Jean) Rachubinski of Boulder, CO and William (Julie) Rachubinski of Appleton, WI; 32 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Bill, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Lawrence, a grandson and her favorite uncle, Max. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 27th at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Cook officiating. Entombment will follow at Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the church on Thursday from 4-7 PM where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 PM; visitation will again be held on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Mary, Mother of the Church Parish or the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047.
