Terrance G. Terry Niebeling, 58, of La Crescent, MN, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN, as the result of a dirt bike accident that occurred on Saturday, June 21thstth. Terry was born in La Crosse on September 1, 1955 to Everett and Betty Shorty (Scott) Niebeling. He graduated from La Crescent High School in 1973. Terry owned and operated T & S Cleaning in La Crescent and the surrounding area for 40 years and enjoyed and valued his many clients. He also did snow removal in the winter and could be found helping people anytime and anywhere. Terry was a jack-of-all trades/handyman and could Terry-rig anything.

Terry was also a volunteer firefighter and first responder and assistant fire marshal with the La Crescent Fire Department for the past 15 years. Terry received many awards, including the La Crescent Fire Department Valor Certificate when he helped save 30 lives with his airboat in the 2007 flood in Stockton, MN. He taught fire safety to the La Crescent Elementary students and also taught CPR in the community. He was also a member of the La Crosse Area Dive/Rescue Team.

On February 14, 2005 he married Laurie Breyer and their blended family includes children Nicole (Chris) Fruechte, Jaimee (Lamin) Fofana, Terry Scott Niebeling, Kelly Niebeling, Katie (fianc Keegan Campbell) Niebeling, Zach and Sophie Emery, two grandchildren, Lawson Fruechte and Lamin Fofana Jr., a brother Tom (Colleen) Niebeling of La Crescent. Also special to Terry were his nephew, Bill (Mandi) Niebeling, niece Angie Niebeling, two great-nieces, Cora and Ellie, and his beloved pets. Terry was preceded in death by his father Everett and his step-father Oren Scott, who was an awesome father and friend to Terry.

Terry had many hobbies and interests, some of which include hunting, fishing, air boating, camping, being out on the river, dirt biking, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and most recently gardening. Terry always had a sense of excitement, high energy, and high spirits. Terry was a recreational pilot and enjoyed soaring through the air with his family and friends and looking at the world below in search of his next adventure.

Terry was like no other! He loved his family and children more than anything. Terry was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, helper, teacher and adventurera hero to all who loved him and to all whose lives he touched or saved. Terry was our Superman!

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the La Crescent United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Prince of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 4:00 8:00 PM and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
