Edythe Dee Otto Grandma Dee, 81, of West Salem, died peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at home, from her struggle with cancer, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 15, 1932 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Earl and Nada (Kast) Knutsen. Dee graduated from Logan High School in 1950. On October 15, 1955 she married Ronald Otto. They spent 48 years together. They had four children, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Dee spent most of her working career at G. Heilman Brewing Co. After retirement she enjoyed many activities which included card club, book club, Bible study, fine art adventures and coffee club. For the past eight years Dee called the family cottage in Stoddard home during the summer season. She always said, Being at the cottage is like being on vacation every day.

Dee is survived by her four children Candace (Hugh) Petersen of Pell Lake, WI, Tracy (Larry) Stuhr of Melrose, WI, Randy (DeAnne) Otto of West Salem, WI and Amy (Andre) Jankowski of Chicago, IL, thirteen grandchildren Samantha Petersen, Emily (Seth) Gagnon, Ben Petersen, Dustin Dalton, Hannah Dalton, Courtney Stuhr, Matt Stuhr, Brynna Stuhr, Andrew (Laura) Otto, Carly Otto, Maria Otto, Jessica Reibel and Remy Jankowski, great grandchildren Ezra and Koa Gagnon, Mai and Titus (Stuhr) Waddell along with a great grandson on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ron and her brother Donald. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in West Salem. Pastor Jason Shockman will officiate. Friends may call at the Schumacher- Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse on Thursday from 6-8 PM and again at the church on Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of service. Dee asked that memorials be given to English Lutheran Church of La Crosse, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of West Salem or the Boys and Girls Club of La Crosse.
