Bev enjoyed volunteering and has held many positions in many organizations. La Crescent Historical Society, La Crescent Rotary Club, La Crescent Lions Club, she represented La Crescent on the Southeastern Minnesota Historic Bluff Country Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Houston County EDA Tourism Sub-Committee. She was also a BABES presenter and Primary Player participant. Bev and her late husband Sam served on the La Crescent Applefest board where after a trip to St. Paul Winter Carnival and watching the Klondike Kates they convinced the board that La Crescent needed the same and in 1985 the Apple Annies were born, Bev was also a long time coordinator for the Annies. Over the years Bev was honored with awards such as 2007 Boys & Girls Club Legend of Distinction, 2003 Rotary/Lions Super Hero, 1999 La Crescent Chambers first recipient of the Share the Spirit award, 1999 Community Service Award In recognition and appreciation of your vision, time and efforts as the founder and coordinator of the Apple Annies, 1996 Certificate of appreciation for Outstanding service as a representative of La Crescent, 1996 Applefest Woman of the Year and 1996 American Business Womens Woman of the Year. Especially dear to her heart was her work with the American Legion Auxiliary helping Americas Veterans. Besides being a past Unit President multiple times she was a Past District President and a Past Department Membership Director. She was most noted for her continuing care of The Guys at the Mosher Veterans Home in Dresbach. She is survived by her children, Michael (Kathy) Weaver of Louden, TN, Gary Weaver and Lori (Bill) Baumgarten both of La Crescent. Grand Children Crystal Bingham, Jaye P (Matt) Brooks, Amy (Brian Johnson) Weaver, Michael (Stephanie) Weaver, Timothy (Michelle) Weaver, Will (Jessica) Baumgarten and Sami (Joe) Rigelski. Great Grand Children Mason, Hayden, Brody, Laura, Taylor, Cathren, Logan, Cameron, Cade, Ethan, Cael, Aiyana, Kalista, Dorian, Roman, Sailor, Gospel, Worthy, Oxton, Missie (Chris), Robert (Kyla), Tim (Dorothy), Sara, Marie and Erica. Great Great Grandchildren Austin, Anthony, Serenity, Archer and Memphis. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam, a sister Marilyn, a son Joel and daughter-in-law Chris. Bevs Family would like to take this time to thank all of the caring staff at Gundersen Lutheran, Dr. Mariner and the Oncology staff and especially Dr. Joseph Caron, as well as the staff at Golden Living Center. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the La Crescent American Legion. Visitation will be Friday July 11, from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral home 200 West Ave. S. La Crosse WI. Services will be Saturday July 12th at 11 AM at the funeral home with visitation one hour before. Committal services will be at the Catholic Cemetery on Losey Blvd. following the service. A luncheon will follow at the La Crescent American Legion please feel free to join us
