Sharon F. Hanson, 75, of La Crosse, was called by Jesus to take her place among the angels on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Sterling House of Onalaska. She was truly an angel with a heart of pure gold. She passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family. She was born in La Crosse on November 12, 1938, to Hubert and Florence (Lapitz) Osowski. She attended La Crosse schools and was a1956 graduate of Aquinas High School. On August 6, 1960, Sharon married George W. Hanson at St. Johns Catholic Church in La Crosse. Sharon worked for Gateway Transportation for a short time. She then worked for many years with the Winding Rivers Library System, working as an assistant on the Bookmobile which traveled throughout a seven county area. Following that, she worked for a brief time at the North Community Library in La Crosse before retiring. Sharon was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for many years. In her free time she enjoyed making ceramics with her sister, Kathy, and also loved the many vacations she and George took to Hawaii. Sharon is survived by her husband, George; her children, Christopher (Brenda) Hanson of Marshfield, Wis., JoAnne (Tracy) Seelbinder of Rushford, Minn., Timothy Hanson of La Crosse, and Thomas (Kathy) Hanson of La Crosse; seven grandchildren, Beth (Garrett) Serres, Jordan Hanson, Joseph Hanson, Michael Hanson, Aaron Hanson, Katie Hanson, and Ian Hanson; and a great granddaughter, Alexis Serres. She is further survived by a sister, Kathy (Mike) Sevallius of La Crosse; two brothers, Mike (Jane) Osowski and John (Cathy) Osowski, both of La Crosse; and many nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, July 15th, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Entombment will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse, on Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., where a rosary will be recited at 4:45 P.M., and at the Cathedral on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
